Sketches was recorded in Hamburg in a single week, was produced by Danny Thompson who also accompanied Bert and Peter (Kirtley) alongside a trio of local players. Sketches, rumored to have been made on a low budget has a cheap and cheerful ambience. Given a low-key release on the Temple label in the UK holds a few gems like the reworking of "The Old Routine". The cover sleeve designed by his now, ex-wife Heather Jansch.
